I recently had the wonderful opportunity to illustrate the five book Body Systems series for the First Graphics imprint published by Capstone Press. The books became available on August 1, 2012.
The book series (which includes A Tour of Your Circulatory System, A Tour of Your Digestive System, A Tour of Your Muscular and Skeletal System, A Tour of Your Nervous System, and A Tour of Your Respiratory System) is formatted in an easy to read graphic novel style format. Peter Pea, Ruby the red blood cell, and friends take readers on a tour inside the human body. Find out how each body system works and why it’s important to keeping you healthy.
Since these books required a lot of research, I actually learned quite a bit about the human body in the process of illustrating them. They provided a wonderful opportunity for me to get creative in illustrating the interior workings of the human body – So they were fun, and educational!
